Analytics4You vs TubeBuddy.

TubeBuddy describes itself as a YouTube SEO and growth tool, with keyword, SEO and thumbnail tools for the channel you run. Analytics4You is a monitor for everyone else’s channels: it records what your niche publishes and changes, and it has no SEO, keyword or thumbnail tooling at all.

[ their words ]

// what TubeBuddy says it is

In TubeBuddy’s own words.

On the day this page was written, TubeBuddy’s page title read “YouTube SEO & Growth Tool for Creators”, its headline “#1 YouTube SEO & Growth Tool”, and its description named “powerful SEO, keyword, and thumbnail tools”. [1]

Everything this page says about TubeBuddy is a quotation from their own site, dated below. Analytics4You has no account with them and does not review other products. Statements about what a tool lacks are only ever made about Analytics4You itself.

// the difference

Two different jobs.

TubeBuddy is a workflow product. Its centre of gravity is the work you do on your own uploads — researching a keyword, scoring a title, producing a thumbnail — and a browser extension is the traditional way that kind of tool reaches you.

Analytics4You has no workflow. It is a record. Once you have added the channels you compete with, there is nothing to operate: the monitor visits their public pages continuously and the difference between what it sees now and what it saw before becomes a timestamped event.

The practical way to choose is to ask what you were doing when you went looking. If you were about to publish and wanted help with the title, that is not this. If you had just noticed a competitor’s video doing unusually well and wanted to know what they had changed and when, that is exactly this.

// side by side

What each one is for.

What TubeBuddy’s page names that we do not have

  • //Keyword and SEO tooling for your own videos. Analytics4You has none.
  • //Thumbnail creation and testing on your own channel. Analytics4You records other people’s thumbnails; it does not make or test yours.
  • //A browser extension layered over YouTube. Analytics4You is a web app with nothing to install.
  • //Bulk editing and publishing tools. Analytics4You writes nothing to YouTube; it is read-only by design.

What Analytics4You does

  • +Continuous monitoring of channels you do not own, with no account connection.
  • +A searchable archive of every title and thumbnail change in your niche, with the previous version kept.
  • +Detection of the A/B experiments YouTube runs, by probing with several independent cold browser identities at once.
  • +A cross-channel outlier ranking that scores each video against its own channel’s history at the same age.

Where they overlap

  • =Both are subscriptions aimed at YouTube creators.
  • =Both surface public information about videos, including ones you did not publish.
[ questions ]

// questions

About Analytics4You and TubeBuddy.

Is Analytics4You a TubeBuddy alternative?

Not for the SEO, keyword, thumbnail or publishing work TubeBuddy is built around, none of which Analytics4You has. It is an alternative for the narrower job of watching what other channels in your niche are doing.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Analytics4You runs in a browser as a normal web app, with no extension and no access to your YouTube account.

Can Analytics4You edit or publish my videos?

No. It never writes anything to YouTube and never signs in to your channel. It only reads public pages.
